ABOUT EVENT

The Original Car Show and BBQ Cook off- Ribs & Rods is a weekend full of amazing custom and classic cars and Texas' best BBQ teams competing and collaborating to raise money for the local Ronald McDonald house. Show off your vehicle, and BBQ skills or join us as a spectator, for live music, and events such as our rib eating contest, pinup competition and more. Be sure to bring your appetite as BBQ judges will be needed and several great food vendors will be on site.

A pedal car competition held at the main stage and include a people’s choice judging for a chance to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place trophies, as well as goods from local area sponsors.

EVENT FAQs

Yes to both; however this is a family friendly event so please be cautious and make sure we don’t have to say no next year.

Gates open to the public at 5:00 PM to give the staff and vendors time to set up for the weekend.

Wrist bands are $10 each and good all weekend. If you lose your wrist band you will be required to purchase another one. Car show registrants will receive 2 wrist bands for the weekend. Cook off teams will receive 6 wrist bands.

The car show is Friday evening through Saturday at 5PM

No, if you’re registered for one day, you’re registered for the whole weekend. You can come and go as you please. Just make sure you’re judged if you do not plan on coming back.  

We will post a list of winners. Contact us and we’ll make arrangements to get you your award.

Gates will close at 9pm both Friday and Saturday. Vehicles will be allowed to exit, but not enter after 9pm. BBQ contestants, concert and movie attendees must use spectator parking at that time.

Spectators will park in the asphalt lot in front of the two air plane hangers at main entrance for the event (not the main entrance of the airport).

All sign up sheets will be at the show merchandise booth, cut offs will be one hour prior to the contest.  Have ID ready if signing up for the beer chug.

Vendor set up will be from 8am-5pm on Friday May 18th.
